How to Style Flare Jeans

Today I am sharing one of my new favorite trends: Flared jeans! I will admit, I was a bit hesitant, at first, in my pursuit of finding the perfect pair. This is mostly due to being curvy, I find it typically to be a big ordeal in going to big department stores and trying on every brand in multiple sizes. I was pleasantly surprised when I started my hunt in one of my favorite brands: Free People. They have a ton of different washes and some fun ones like this one with patchwork and this one with pocket embroidery. In Free People, there clothing always fits me to my true to size, I seldom find myself sizing up or down. 

Now while I love the seventies “flare” to the jeans, I chose to start out in this simple dark wash pair. To balance the proportion of the pants, I paired it with a boxy fur vest that adds a similar shape up top. When I wear these pants again, I’ll probably wear with a longer tunic top, tucking in the front but leaving the back of the shirt out covering my bottom. Again, this is because I am curvy, I want to balance out my proportions. If you are naturally slim, I think a fitted long sleeve shirt would look great and if you are a bit curvier than myself, I would suggest you add volume to your top half for a better balance! 

I can’t believe Pat, Ruby and I will have the car packed and be headed home for Christmas! I can taste my mom’s sugar cookies already!
