Hi guys! I’ve been dying to share our reception photos with y’all! In case you missed our ceremony photos, you can see that post here! While Pat and I were taking photos after the ceremony, our guest were led upstairs to a balcony that over looks the resort. We had a Caribbean band there to play live music and lots of food and drinks! Pat and I entered and were greeted with guest that were ready to celebrate!
Pat and I didn’t rehearse our first dance so we did a lot of slow turning and eye gazing (lol!) but I will never forget how I felt in that moment. It was absolutely one of the most peaceful, purest moments of joy I have ever felt. To be surrounded by your parents, siblings, closest friends and loved ones all there to celebrate you and your love, it was incredible! My Dad danced with me next and he told me the reason behind the song he chose for us and I almost cried right then, it was so sweet, such a wonderful moment! Marissa, my twin sister, and my childhood best friend, Becca were my maid of honors. Their speeches along with Pat’s best man, Aarron’s made all of us laugh. They were awesome and so heart felt!
Pat and I did a polaroid guest book. Each guest took a photo of themselves and taped it into our book and wrote a message. We are having a big picnic reception in our hometown in two weeks and guest will sign the book the same way there! It was the best solution to having a guestbook that we would look back at and remember two major events in our wedding celebration!
After dancing I changed into my second dress (will be sharing more of it in another post where Pat and I shot it in my dream location!) and we all started busting out our dance moves! My family LOVES to dance so it was super fun. Doesn’t it always feel like there isn’t enough time to dance? We could have stayed out there dancing for several more hours!
We ended the night with a sparkler send off and then met everyone at the disco to keep the party going!
It was truly a dream wedding. Our wedding planner from Dreams Dominicus, JoAna was such a joy to work with. She really tried to make everything perfect for us and we can’t say enough how wonderful it was to have our wedding at this resort. Everyone told us prior to leaving “your wedding is the best night of your life” and it honestly was. That night we were surrounded by so much love and support, I can’t wait to see what God’s plans are for Pat and I next.
